DCBS Love Local BBQ

To celebrate Love Local Month Downtown CBS hosted a Free BBQ at the Community Park located at 20 Bishops Road CBS on June 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Free sausage dogs and burgers from Newlander Meats were served on buns and rolls from Dough By’s. Live music was provided by Darcy Scott. Prize giveaways included the items listed below. All food and beverages are supplied free of charge by Downtown CBS. Donations of nonperishable food items were collected for the CBS/Paradise Food Bank during this event.

Live Music by Darcy Scott Musician and songwriter Darcy Scott's first song Happy Place debuted in the Top 100 of the
2019 CBC Searchlight Competition. Following the release of his debut EP Wasted Spaces he was picked as one of 10 artists from Atlantic Canada to participate in the 2023 Lunenburg Folk Festival Songwriters Camp where he worked with Juno award winners, David Myles and Catherine MacLellan.
